DEMANDS OF THE WORKING CLASS IDENTIFIED

“The proposal titled ”Demands of the Working Class of Turkey", which defines the political principles that the working class should embrace, was discussed at the founding meeting.

Equality for the working class, nationalization, freedom, patriotism, the right to politics, the right to decent work, the right to retirement and the right to life for pensioners, and the determination to part ways with the bosses and the capitalist order were unanimously adopted as the political principles of the Assembly.

RESOLUTION OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLES OF IRAN AND CUBA

The Workers' Deputies Assembly also adopted two position statements declaring solidarity with the Iranian people in the face of US and Israeli aggression and with Cuba in the face of the US blockade of Cuba.

The final declaration adopted by the Workers' Representative Assembly reads as follows:

“The only way to stop the exploitation, plunder, war, destruction and decay in our country and in the world is for the working class to come to the political scene as a social power. This will only be possible with a working class movement organized around the demand for a change of order. The contradiction between labor and capital stands at the root of all the problems experienced by the working class, and unless this exploitative order is ended, a humane life, a secular and independent country, peace, freedom and democracy will not be possible. The Workers' Representatives Assembly declares that it will raise the struggle for socialism against the capitalist class and multinational monopolies, and that the demand for a country ruled by the working class is the only real way out of the darkness we live in.

The Workers' Representatives Assembly determined its organizational and struggle goals with the decisions taken at its founding meeting.

The Workers' Representatives Assembly aims to increase the organization of the working class. In this direction, it will develop tools and methods to strengthen the organization of the worker communities represented in the Assembly; it will organize struggles with concrete goals in designated areas, regions and workplaces. In these areas, where manufacturing industry, textile and public workers are located, the Workers' Representatives' Assembly aims to gain new positions and carry its existing organization further.

The Workers' Representatives Assembly will organize political, social and cultural meetings and activities to strengthen working class identity and culture, use workers' houses and neighborhood houses for this purpose, and make various publications available for this purpose.

The Workers' Representatives Assembly will act with the aim of defending the rights and demands of public sector workers and increasing their organization. For this purpose, the Assembly will act with the aim of increasing the number of public union executives and workplace representatives in the Assembly and ensuring that the unions in these workplaces become authorized unions.

The Workers' Representative Assembly builds on the experience represented by the Solidarity, Communication and Struggle Network of We are on the Bosses' Back (PE). The Assembly will mobilize to strengthen the solidarity networks and workplace committees established within PE, to increase their vitality and to establish workplace committees and solidarity networks in more workplaces. The PE's communication tools will be strengthened so that workers from different sectors can share their problems and develop possibilities for common struggle.

The Workers' Representatives Assembly aims to bring together all retirees of advanced age who have earned the right to retire or have passed the retirement age but have not been able to retire for a number of reasons, and to establish Retiree Solidarity Networks all over Turkey with this goal.

The Workers” Representatives Assembly considers it one of its main duties to take part in the ongoing workers' resistance and actions. This picture, in which these resistances remain isolated and fragmented, facing banned strikes, prevented unionization attempts, repression and obstructions, must change. The Workers' Representatives Assembly declares that it will do its part to increase the public awareness and influence of workers' resistance and actions and to give strength to the working class in general."
