Both those who lie a lot and those who behave erratically, even if the two are separate, cannot be overlooked. Özgür Özel, who heads the CHP, is close to bipolar mania with his world of lies, excessive energy, sleeplessness and exuberant behavior. Behavioral disorders can have different consequences.
What is Lie Disease (Mitomania)?
Lying disease, medically known as mitomania or pathological lying, is a condition in which a person habitually lies repeatedly without any tangible gain or purpose. It occurs for psychological relief or to satisfy a need, and the person may often be unaware of their lies. Mythomania, Greek “muthos” (myth) and Latin “mania” (insanity). It can often be seen as a symptom of antisocial, narcissistic or histrionic personality disorders.
Mythomaniacs may make up exaggerated stories to get attention or make themselves feel better, but these lies disrupt social relationships over time.
Symptoms include the following:
- Don't lie constantly and unnecessarily.
- A feeling of psychological relief after lying.
- Lies are complex and long-lasting.
- Believing or not recognizing one's lies.
Although the exact causes are unknown, childhood traumas, low self-esteem or other mental disorders may play a role. Treatment is usually with psychotherapy (e.g. cognitive behavioral therapy); in rare cases, medication may be added if there is another underlying disorder.
What is Bipolar Disease (Bipolar Disorder)?
Bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic-depressive disorder, is a chronic mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings. “Bipolar” It is so called because it alternates between episodes of mania (a period of extreme euphoria and energy) and depression (a period of extreme sadness and despair).
These attacks can last for days or weeks and can seriously affect a person's daily life, relationships and work performance.
Symptoms are grouped in two main periods:
- Manic episode: Excess energy, need for less sleep, fast talking, risky behavior (e.g. spending money), irritability or euphoria.
- Period of depression: Hopelessness, fatigue, loss of interest, suicidal thoughts.
Causes are due to genetic, biological (brain chemistry) and environmental factors; a family history increases the risk. Treatment is usually with mood stabilizers, antidepressants and psychotherapy. As it is a lifelong condition, regular follow-up is important.
For this reason, I think the childhood phase of the head of the CHP and what he went through will give clear arguments to reveal this situation. When I want to make a diagnosis as a lawyer, unfortunately the country is facing a personality close to these diseases and depressive behaviors overlap with lies and cause deep unrest.
