Poll if there was an election this Sunday: AKP and CHP both lost votes

According to the survey conducted by ASAL Research asking the question “Who would you vote for if parliamentary elections were held this Sunday?”, after the distribution of swing voters, the AKP's share of the vote remained at 33.5 percent, while the CHP's share of the vote remained at 23.7 percent.

The survey, which was conducted between July 14-25, 2023 in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Bursa, Balıkesir, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Kırıkkale, Konya, Malatya, Manisa, Mardin, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon, Van, Yalova and Zonguldak, asked 2,500 people aged 18 and over, “Who would you vote for if parliamentary elections were held this Sunday?”.

Who should lead the CHP?

In the survey conducted by ASAL Research, citizens were asked the question “If Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu leaves the chairmanship, who would you like to see as CHP chairman?”.

In the survey, where İmamoğlu scored 16 points more than his closest rival, the vote rates of other candidates were shaped as follows:

Mansur Yavas: 15.5 percent

Ozgur Ozel 8.4 percent

Mustafa Sarıgül 5.1 percent

Gürsel Tekin 3.5 percent

Muharrem Ince: 2.6 percent

Canan Kaftancioglu: 2.1 percent

Which party can solve Turkey's problems?

In the public opinion poll conducted by ASAL Research Company, voters were asked, “What is the most important problem in Turkey?” 68.6 percent of the respondents answered economy and the cost of living.

ASAL Research published the “Turkey Political Agenda Survey”.

The survey included voter support for political parties, opinions on the government and other political parties, and evaluations on the issues on the agenda in July.

In the survey conducted between July 14-25, 2023 in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Bursa, Balıkesir, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Kırıkkale, Konya, Malatya, Manisa, Mardin, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon, Van, Yalova and Zonguldak with 2,520 people aged 18 and over, citizens were asked the question “What do you think is Turkey's most important problem?”.

68.6 percent of the respondents answered this question with the economy and the cost of living.

This was followed by those who answered “Unemployment” with 5.2 percent.

“Everything is a problem” ranked third with 4.7 percent. Another 3.5 percent answered ’Refugees“ to this question.

In the rest of the survey, the problems of Turkey were listed as “Education” with 2.4 percent, “Justice” with 2.1 percent, “Urban Transformation” with 1.7 percent, “Health” with 1.2 percent, “Public order/security” with 0.9 percent, “Agriculture” with 0.9 percent, “No problem” with 1.4 percent and “Other” with 2.3 percent.

The respondents were asked the second question “Which political party can solve Turkey's problems?”. While 27.9 percent of the respondents chose the AK Party, 26.7 percent of the respondents chose None.

CHP ranked third with 18.8 percent, İYİ Party ranked fourth with 6.0 percent, HDP ranked fifth with 4.9 percent, MHP ranked sixth with 4.7 percent and Other Parties ranked seventh with 3.8 percent.
