Is there a cure for cancer?

In cancer, it is often not a miracle drug that determines fate, but when the disease is recognized.

The same claim has been circulating for some time. Cuba has found a cure for cancer. Such sentences spread fast. Because cancer involves fear and uncertainty. People want to hear a definite solution.

But here's the truth. Cancer is not a single disease. It is the common name for hundreds of different diseases. Even two cancers in the same organ can behave completely differently. That is why it is not possible to eradicate all cancers with a single drug.

The CIMAvax-EGF vaccine developed in Cuba is not a “cure”. It is not a preventive vaccine either. It is a supportive treatment used in some patients after chemotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The aim is to create an immune response against a substance that promotes tumor growth and slow the progression of the disease. There is evidence that it can prolong life in some patients. However, there is no evidence that it completely eradicates cancer and it is not the main standard treatment worldwide.

Today, there is no single way to treat cancer. There are drugs that strengthen the immune system. There are targeted therapies selected according to the genetic structure of the tumor. Cellular therapies have achieved significant success in some blood cancers. Surgery and radiotherapy are still the most effective and sometimes completely curative methods in many cancers. Hormone therapies are life-saving in breast and prostate cancer.

From time to time there are claims that drugs such as ivermectin or fenbendazole cure cancer. They may have had an effect on some cells in the laboratory. But this does not mean that it cures cancer in humans. Large, controlled studies in humans are needed before we can say that a medicine really works. These drugs are not approved to treat cancer.

What is clear today is this. There is no single cure for cancer. But this does not mean despair. Many cancers have significantly prolonged life expectancy. Some have become manageable as chronic diseases. Many cancers caught early can be completely cured.

In cancer, it is often not a miracle drug that determines fate, but when the disease is detected. A significant proportion of cancers caught early can be cured. When it is late, the options are reduced. Therefore, it is vital to keep regular check-ups, take the body's signals seriously and be evaluated in the right center.

True hope lies not in rumors, but in timely diagnosis and scientifically planned treatment.
