Former model Deniz Akkaya, who made allegations against Haluk Levent, the founder of Ahbap, is under investigation for 5 separate crimes. It was decided to send the file opened for the crime of insult to the reconciliation office.
In 2103, thousands of people donated to the Ahbap Platform founded by Haluk Levent after the February 6 earthquakes, which caused discomfort in the ruling circles. While there were calls to confiscate the donations made to the association, trolls targeted Haluk Levent and Ahbap in an organized way. Accusations that Haluk Levent was acquitted of were brought to the agenda. While Ahbap and Haluk Levent were being threatened, former model Deniz Akkaya also targeted Haluk Levent, claiming that he had been accused of fraud in the past. Deniz Akkaya's allegations were widely covered in pro-government media.
Haluk Levent, who denied these allegations and shared court decisions, filed a criminal complaint against Deniz Akkaya. Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against Deniz Akkaya for “insulting and humiliating Public Institutions and Organizations, publicly disseminating misleading information, threat, insult and slander”.
The prosecutor's office decided to send the file to the reconciliation office for ‘insult’ against Deniz Akkaya. If Haluk Levent does not accept the reconciliation, Deniz Akkaya will be sued for insult.
The prosecutor's office decided not to prosecute on other charges.
