The family is the environment where the child acquires his/her first personality and learns social and cultural values. It is in a healthy family environment that the child learns how to play a role in the family and society that he/she will establish when he/she becomes an adult, and how to establish relationships with the school. But we have problems.
Because in some families, factors such as violence etc. have not been resolved. In such cases, of course, it is a negative situation for our education system when problematic children start school. Of course, such a process complicates the work of school administrators.
On the other hand, the child has to learn how to behave towards others and how to cope with various situations in society. In this respect, parents have an important role to play.
The family and the school must cooperate in the education of the child. However, we also have problems in this respect. It is seen that some parents do not attend meetings etc. Of course, this understanding is related to the consciousness of the parents. The low level of education has an important share in this negativity.
In some cases, the expectations of the school and the parents do not match. Sometimes we can also say that they are in conflict. Of course, it is inevitable that such a process will negatively affect the learning-teaching process.
If the information acquired in the family is wrong, the school should try to change this information and replace it with correct information. However, it should be well known that the attitudes and behaviors acquired between the ages of 0-7 do not change easily. This understanding shows how difficult the work of educators is.
In school-family cooperation, parents have to fulfill certain obligations (attending meetings, signing documents). However, it is not an exaggeration to claim that there are parents who do not know the way to the school.
They should benefit from the cooperation of schools, parents and teachers. School-parent cooperation is the most effective way to eliminate students' undesirable behaviors and make the learning-teaching process effective.
