HALKWEB-Abdulvahap Göçer, the mayor of Yazıhan, Malatya, who was referred to the CHP High Disciplinary Board (YDK) for his criticisms against the Republican People's Party (CHP), said, “I did not betray my party. I did not stab anyone in the back. I won a district that could not be taken for years as a gift to my party.”.
CHP Supreme Disciplinary Board (YDK) convened at CHP Headquarters. The board took the defense of Yazıhan Mayor Abdulvahap Göçer, who was referred to the YDK with a request for final dismissal with precautionary measures due to his criticisms against his party CHP.
“Those who take bribes should be expelled”
In his defense, Göçer said, “I said that the person who takes bribes should be expelled from the party, whether he is a presidential candidate or a chairman. I do not regret what I said, I will say what I said again.”.
Abdulvahap Göçer, the mayor of Yazıhan district, who was referred to the disciplinary board by the CHP with a final request for dismissal, made his defense at the YDK.

Making a statement after his defense at the YDK, Göçer said that the purpose of coming here was not defense and said, “We did not commit a party crime. People who commit bribery, revenge and public damage commit party crimes. Who commits a party crime? People who harm their party, who prevent their party from coming to power harm the party. We told the disciplinary board that the chairman of the Supreme Disciplinary Board should resign from his post because he has a criminal case against him. Because I think that people who have a criminal case against them are not authorized to make decisions about the discipline of people like us. I personally stated this to the chairman of the disciplinary board.”.

Stating that he worked hard in Yazıhan Municipality where he served as mayor, Göçer said, “I did not betray my party. I did not stab anyone in the back. I won a district that could not be taken for years and gave it to my party as a gift. I think that one-man rule must end. Turkey needs the Republican People's Party. We cannot leave a good future for our children if we remain silent and submit to injustices for our political future. We have this sensitivity and we are fighting for this and we will continue to do so.”.

Göçer stated that the party needs unity and solidarity and said
“I am not Aziz İhsan Aktaş's friend. I did not ride in Aziz İhsan Aktaş's bus or minibus. I was not accused of bribery or extortion. I see it as a cruelty to come here today and defend myself because I told the wrongs I saw in the party for my party to come to power. But I testified again.”
