Chess tournament in memory of Sari Saltuk Baba

The traces left by Sarı Saltuk, a Turkmen revolutionary who lived in the 13th century and played an important role in the spread of Alevi - Bektashism in the Balkans, are still found in many countries.

For this important historical figure, the Bektashi Education and Culture Foundation is organizing a chess tournament ‘In Memory of Sarı Saltuk Baba’ in cooperation with the Turkish Chess Federation and Spartaküs Culture and Art Association.

The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 15 at the Spartacus Culture and Art Association hall in Ankara. In the tournament, which will be held under the supervision of the Turkish Chess Federation referee and observer, the first prize will be three thousand, the second two thousand, the third one thousand, the fourth 750, the fifth 500 Turkish liras. In addition to the prize money, chess players who participate in the tournament will be presented with trophies and medals.
