In the 2023 general elections, Independent Ankara MP Adnan Beker, who was elected as an MP from the IYI Party, joined the CHP at a group meeting yesterday. Beker, whose badge was personally pinned on him by Özgür Özel, had announced that he did not vote for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the candidate of the People's Alliance in the presidential elections, and that he voted for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Is Beker a relic of Mansur Yavaş?
“Adnan Beker is Mansur Yavaş's trustee,” Özel said at the ceremony. However, sources close to Mansur Yavaş, whom we asked about Özel's claim, did not confirm it.
On the other hand, CHP's former Ankara Provincial Chairman Hikmet Akıllı also denied Özgür Özel's claim, saying “Adnan Beker is not a trustee of Mansur Mayor. Our General President must have been misinformed.”.

Sources close to Mansur Yavaş also state that Beker and Yavaş were close for a while, but they have not been in contact or met for more than a year.
The negotiations took place on Baghdad Street
Two names were influential in Adnan Beker's transfer to CHP. One of them is CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir. Murat Emir was one of the names that Özgür Özel raised his hand at the joining ceremony.

The other name is İbrahim Özkan, former IYI Party IBB Assembly Member. Özkan, who resigned from the IYI Party in reaction to Meral Akşener's decision not to support CHP candidates in the 2024 local elections, is one of İmamoğlu's closest staff in Istanbul. It is claimed that Özkan frequently visited Adnan Beker's gas station on Bağdat Street and that the negotiations on Beker's transition to CHP were held here.
However, due to the reactions from the party base, Özel is reported to have introduced Adnan Beker as ‘the trustee of Mansur Yavaş’.
