Dilek Bozkurt/HALKWEB Ardahan Deputy Governor Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu was attacked with a knife by the wife of a woman in the house he had secretly visited. Kasımoğlu was seriously wounded and hospitalized, while the Ministry of Interior suspended the deputy governor after the scandal.

The incident occurred in an apartment the previous evening. Allegedly, Deputy Governor Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu, who was at the home of a woman who works as a secretary in the public sector, was surprised when the woman's husband came home. The husband, who went into a rage in the face of the scene he encountered, attacked his wife after seriously injuring Kasımoğlu with a knife he took from the kitchen.
Jet Decision by the Ministry and Governorate
After the bloody raid, Ardahan Governorate and the Ministry of Interior took action with jet speed. In the statement made by the governorship, it was stated that the incident was subject to a disciplinary investigation:
”A disciplinary investigation was initiated against Mustafa Berat Kasımoğlu in accordance with the Law No. 657 on Civil Servants; as a result of the investigation, he was suspended from his duty by the Ministry of Interior.”
Investigation Deepens: 2 Detained
Police teams arrived at the scene upon the notification of the neighbors and detained the attacker husband and a person suspected to be related to the incident. Kasımoğlu was taken to the hospital and her treatment is ongoing, while the judicial process continues.
