Theaters in Ankara shared their messages on World Theater Day.
Ankara Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center Theater Collective greeted March 27, World Theater Day.

The following statements were made in the statement:
“However, we would like to celebrate March 27th with enthusiasm... We would like it to be a day when the halls and streets are filled with theater lovers.
However, we are going through a period in which art and even theater are being suppressed, eviscerated, turned into a product that can be bought and sold, and made very difficult for working people and the poor to access. And we know that all these are actually preparations to eliminate art and everything related to art. The theater, which has its share of the exploitation order we live in, has also been left without breath, without a stage, without actors, without an audience. Because it is easier to surrender the society whose art you destroy in every subject.
We are aware of this situation. We know that art is a power of resistance. It enlightens, questions, develops and moves forward. This is exactly what disturbs those who want to attack art and theater!
While greeting World Theater Day, Ankara NHKM Theater Collective uses theater as a means of resistance to the struggle that inevitably must be waged.
For this reason, it calls on theater artists, all theater workers from decorators to lighting artists, and of course art lovers to meet, unite and solidarity.
Happy are the days when the theater is liberated, the stages are not empty and the audience is full.”
