WHO IS SUZAN SABANCI DİNÇER?

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akbank. Ms. Dinçer is also a member of the Sabancı Holding Board of Directors and the Sabancı University and Sabancı Foundation Board of Trustees. Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is also the Chairperson of Akbank's International Advisory Board, which she led the establishment of in 2009.

Mr. Sabancı Dinçer began his banking career in 1986 and joined Akbank as Assistant General Manager in charge of Treasury. In 1997, Ms. Sabancı Dinçer became Managing Director responsible for Treasury and International Banking and in 2001, she assumed the position of Managing Director responsible for Change Management. Suzan Sabancı Dinçer has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akbank since March 2008.

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance and a member of the Emerging Markets Advisory Board. Sabancı Dinçer is also a member of Harvard University's Global Advisory Board, Harvard Business School's Global Leaders Community, Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government's Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Politics Advisory Board and Harvard Business School's Middle East and North Africa Advisory Board Emeritus. Sabancı Dinçer is also a member of the International Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Directors of Venetian Heritage Inc.

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer served as the President of DEİK/Turkish-British Business Council for two terms between 2010 and 2014 and was a member of the Chatham House Board of Trustees between 2009 and 2016. In recognition of her active and effective contributions to the development and strengthening of relations between the United Kingdom and Turkey, Ms. Sabancı Dinçer was awarded the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer, who undertakes many responsibilities in the field of social responsibility, especially in the fields of culture and arts, education and entrepreneurship, is a Founding Member and Board Member of Endeavor Turkey and a Member of the Honorary Board of Contemporary Istanbul. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer is also the Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in Istanbul.

In 2014, Suzan Sabancı Dinçer was awarded the Orden del Merito Civil (Order of Civil Merit) by King Felipe VI for her contributions to the relations between the two countries and her support for cultural rapprochement.

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer received her undergraduate degree in Finance from Richmond College in the UK. She also holds an MBA degree from Boston University in the USA.

WHO IS HALUK DINCER?

Haluk Dinçer was born in Istanbul in 1962. Haluk Dinçer received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSE) and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan. Starting his career as a Project Engineer at General Motors Global Technical Center in 1985 in the USA, Dinçer joined the Sabancı Group in August 1995 and served as Managing Director of the Board of Directors at TEMSA and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors since December 1995.

Haluk Dinçer assumed the position of Vice President of the Food Group at Sabancı Holding in October 2001. In 2002, he was appointed Sabancı Holding Executive Committee Member and Food Group President. In September 2004, Mr. Dinçer was appointed as the President of the Food and Retail Group and in March 2011, he was appointed as the President of the Retail and Insurance Group.

After the reorganization in June 2016, he was appointed Sabancı Insurance Group President and Financial Services Group President in April 2020. He currently serves as a member of the Holding Executive Board, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Aksigorta, AGESA, EXSA, TURSA, Ankara International Hotel Management and Board Member at BRİSA.

Mr. Dinçer served as President of TÜSİAD in 2014-15 and is currently a member of the TÜSİAD Presidents’ Council. He also served as the Chairman of the Turkey-US Business Council (TAIK) within the Foreign Economic Relations Board between 2008-14. Since February 2018, he has been serving as a Board Member at the Global Relations Forum. Since June 2019, he has been a member of the Geneva Association, the international organization of the insurance industry.
