Ankara Independent MP Adnan Beker, who resigned from the IYI Party he was elected for, was given a CHP badge by Özgür Özel at the CHP Group Meeting and joined the party.

“I hope that the news in the press about Ankara MP Mr. Adnan Beker joining our party is not true. Political memory, commitment to principles and moral consistency are the cornerstones of politics. 14 Mr. Beker, who openly declared that he did not vote for the common candidate of the Millet Alliance in the May elections, supported Mr. Erdoğan, and used shallow expressions such as “he cannot even manage the Pursaklar Municipality” about the Six Table, joining the ranks of the Republican People's Party will create justified question marks in our party organization and grassroots. Our party is not a last stop for those who cannot find what they expect from the ruling party.

The Republican People's Party is the party of those who pay the price for democracy and justice. In politics, those who do not grow shrink. Therefore, it is necessary to expand. However, even this view is insufficient to explain Mr. Beker's joining our party. As a matter of fact, there have been valuable deputies who have joined our Party both in the past and in this period. The main thing is their stance against the one-man regime. Just as we talk about political ethics when we criticize the AKP's participation from other parties, we should approach our Party's expansion policy with the same sensitivity.
