Four months ago, according to the agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF, the SDF withdrew its heavy weapons from Aleppo, and it was also agreed that local security forces would be present there. However, despite the agreement, Aleppo was entered with the connivance of the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan (which was also written about by the world public opinion and the world media).
With the help and armed support of the Turkish state, dozens of Kurdish civilians, including babies in their mothers' arms, were killed, 200 thousand Kurds were displaced and 500 Kurds are missing. With the support of the Turkish state, a second Halabja was attempted in Aleppo, but fortunately the fire was extinguished early.
From here, I once again call on Mr. President and Mr. Bahçeli, Hakan Fidan and Şara have committed war crimes in Aleppo, Fidan should be immediately dismissed from his post and should be tried in an international criminal court.
On the one hand, you will initiate the peace process to strengthen the internal front, but on the other hand, you will accept Ahmad al-Shara (Colani), the murderer of thousands of people, whom the US considers a ‘notorious terrorist’ and puts a $30 million bounty on his head, as the “respected head of state” of Syria, and you will massacre the Kurds together with him.
And what is the justification?
On the grounds that they are terrorists.
So who decides what is terrorism, who is a terrorist, and what is ‘terrorist organization propaganda’?
Let's get the answer from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Başkaya. From time to time I include Başkaya's writings because he is indeed a highly intellectual, conscientious, moral and honorable Turkish intellectual.
While I was thinking of writing about the human tragedy in Aleppo, I saw the analysis sent to me by Fikret Hodja at night and decided to work on it together.
Without going into the lecturer's analysis, we should note that there are terrorism investigations against 2 million 200 thousand people in Turkey, and that hundreds of thousands of people are under investigation without any court decision. “terrorist” with a decree with the stigma of a decree law, thousands have lost their jobs, food and lives, and thousands of them have been subjected to the ECHR's “crime without law is no crime” despite the government saying “affiliation” that he went to prison on his bullshit.
Prisons with the highest number of inmates in the history of the Republic “our veiled sister” thousands of women, children and children.
Because there is no justice in this country...
Fikret Hodja's introduction to his analysis is noteworthy.
“In the beginning you knew nothing, I believe.
Then you became suspicious.
Now you know everything, but you are still silent” (Jean Paul Sartre)
“The further a society moves away from the truth, the more it hates those who tell the truth.” (George Orwell)
Fikret hoca; the following striking observation is actually a summary of what we are going through.
“In the age of neoliberal globalization, the rhetoric of terrorism, terrorists, terrorist organizations and the fight against terrorism has become a means of imposing imperialist hegemony, securing oligarchic interests, prolonging the life of reactionary and anti-people governments, collapsing states, tearing apart the fabric of societies, destroying limited rights and freedoms, and neutralizing opposition, rather than defeating an evil.
Another paradoxical thing is that those who created and instrumentalized the so-called terrorist organization are also considered champions of the fight against terrorism.
For example, the Taliban was a joint US-Saudi Arabia-Pakistan production. It was created, trained, equipped, financed and used to destroy the progressive-secular regime in Afghanistan and to repel the Soviet Union.
When the goal was achieved, it was labeled a ‘terrorist organization’ and cursed.
At first, the US considered the Taliban, and jihadist groups in general, to be “freedom fighters”.
Why and how did freedom fighters become ‘terrorists’?
If Iraq had not been destroyed on absurd ‘grounds’ and shameful lies, would ISIS have emerged?
Moreover, there can be no justification for invading any country.
There is no need to go far: Ahmad al-Shara (Colani), the murderer of thousands of people, whom the US considered a ‘notorious terrorist’ and put a 30 million dollar bounty on his head, is now the “respected head of state” of Syria... The darling of European politicians... He is now being hosted at the ‘White House’.
There is a definition of terrorism. It is more or less clear what it is. But it is not the same for “terrorist” and “terrorist organization”.
The situation depends on the intentions of those who use and instrumentalize these two words.
Nowadays, the words terrorist and terrorist organization have been transformed into a tool to demonize, punish and neutralize political opponents that the regime does not consider credible.
In our language, the word for terrorism is tedhish, and tedhish means ‘to terrorize, terrify, dismay, confuse, frighten, intimidate’.
However, terrorism as a method of oppression and violence is inherent in the definition of the state, it is embedded in it and is contemporary with the state.
The state is the only apparatus with the monopoly to use violence. It was established in the first place through coercion, violence, fear, intimidation and terror, and has maintained its existence through the constant use and manipulation of violence, oppression and terror.
But the dominant discourse does not recognize the state's own violence, its own terror as terror, its own terror as terror.
Because what is terrorism and who is a terrorist is decided by the men of the state, their mentors, those who produce and disseminate the dominant ideology/official ideology, those who are called “experts on the subject”” says Fikret Başkaya.
It describes exactly what we see today. The Ak Parti government can declare anyone a terrorist, imprison anyone, fire anyone, declare anyone a hero, and declare anyone a traitor.
Justice is no longer administered in the courts, but by the pro-AK Party government's pro-media elements.
Fikret continues:
“The bigger a state is, the more powerful it is, the greater its ability to impose and enforce terror. The United States of America, now considered the symbol of the fight against terrorism, is the biggest terrorist state.
Of course, it is a disturbing irony that the biggest terrorist is considered the ‘symbol of the fight against terrorism’.
Wasn't the US's brutal massacre of 55-60 million people in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East after the Second Imperialist War ‘state terrorism’?
“As for terrorist organization propaganda, my experience is enough to clarify the situation.
Two weeks after Paradigm's Bankruptcy was published, an investigation and a lawsuit were filed. The lawyer of the publishing house told the prosecutor of the State Security Court: “This book is a scientific analysis of the past 70-80 years of Turkey. The author is an academic, a member of a university”, it is not appropriate to associate the book with terrorist propaganda.
Prosecutor: “you will both eat the bread of the state and try to destroy it, no way”.
The result was 20 months in prison, a fine of one billion TL in the money of the time and deprivation of some civil rights. And the road to Ulucanlar prison was paved.
When I heard that 8 young prisoners were brutally murdered in Diyarbakır Prison by beating their heads with iron bars, I immediately wrote an article.
I was sentenced to one year in prison, the sentence was postponed. I was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment and a fine for another article. I was sentenced to Kalecik Prison.
‘I wrote an article titled ’The real terror is state terror'.
A lawsuit was filed on the grounds of terrorist propaganda and lasted for two years.
However, to say that the real terror is state terrorism is a tautology like saying fire burns, sugar is sweet, it was to declare the obvious.
The state is the only apparatus with the monopoly on the use of violence
It has very wide opportunities to practice terror. Because the state was initially established and maintained its existence based on force, violence and oppression.”
Prosecutor sues for apolitizing APO!
Justice has fallen into such a ridiculous situation that wherever you hold it, it falls apart like rotten cloth. Without going into this memory of Fikret, let me tell you another one.
Again, when the teacher was being detained for an article he had written, the police came and asked the detainees one by one, “Why are you here?”.
When it was the teacher's turn;
Police, “Why are you here?”
The teacher says, “book”.
Police, “What, you wrote a book?”
The teacher says, “Yes.”.
Police; “but did you write the truth?”
The teacher says, “Yes.”.
The policeman says, “Then of course you will come here.”.
Now let's listen to what happened to the hodja, which did not happen to the cooked chicken, from the mouth of the hodja.
Hodja; “Here is an example of what cases are filed: The editor-in-chief of a newspaper published in Gaziantep telephoned me, asking if I could come to Ankara for an interview.
I told him to come to the Free University on this day at this time. He came and we had a long conversation.
One of the questions was about “civil society organizations”.
“There are two types of civil society organizations: Those founded by the oppressed-exploited, and those founded, created and supported by the state-rulers.
These latter are the tools of apolitization - depoliticization”.
The interview was published under the title “Civil society organizations are instruments of apoliticization”.
When I arrived at the Free University a few weeks later, a yellow envelope was waiting for me on my desk... I opened it.
Adana State Security Court filed a lawsuit against me... I guess you are wondering about the reasoning.
In Apolitization (Apo) Abdullah Öcalan is implied, thus making propaganda for a terrorist organization...
This was undoubtedly a scandal, but the bigger scandal was that no newspapers or TV stations reported it.
They turned a blind eye
In the 1990s, when I was writing a weekly column for Özgür Gündem newspaper, so many investigations were opened against me that some weeks I would be in the State Security Court two days a week.
Of course, after a while you come face to face with the police and bailiffs.
Sometimes when time intervened: “Hodja, are you sick?”.
Of course, not only for ‘terrorist organization propaganda’.
‘Lawsuits were also filed for ’insulting the moral personality of the state'.
My statements in the hearings that there can be no such thing as ‘the spiritual personality of the state’ and that spirituality is something that belongs to human beings had no repercussions.
In Syria, Kurds heroically repelled an ISIS attack...
Journalists, TV personalities, politicians, so-called “intellectuals” and state officials are not supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), but the leader of ISIS killers, Ahmad al-Sharia... What more can you say?” asks Fikret Hoca.
I must say here that beating, massacring and breaking the Kurds in the four parts of the four countries where the Kurds live will not get anywhere, as it has not gotten anywhere for a hundred years.
The only solution to the problem:
It is universal justice
