On February 6, 2023, Turkey experienced the most devastating and deadly disaster in its history. More than 53 thousand people lost their lives in the Maraş-centered earthquake. The earthquakes, which caused heavy destruction in 11 provinces, displaced 13 million people. They lost not only their homes, but also their loved ones, neighbors, relatives, neighborhoods, streets and memories!
Before that, in the earthquake of August 17, 1999, we had lost 18,000 people in the collapsed rotten buildings!
Death everywhere!
Anatolia's ancient cities are under the rubble of a predatory order. It is difficult to survive in this order, to live unscathed, to survive without drowning in underpasses built with “special” tenders, to survive without being trapped in the rubble of rotten buildings built for the sake of rent, to live in the tents set up by the “national and local state” without getting caught in the rain and floods;
It is imperative to be political without getting caught up in the dust created by this atrocity!
Contractors who steal iron and cement continue to design bad order and politics.
A new order where stealing is not a crime is being institutionalized!
“Anyway, if everyone steals, no one has stolen.”
In the dark abysses of corruption and bribery, the fate of all of us is being determined. These evils have made the country unlivable, we are losing the joy of life!
That is why there is poverty in my country, that is why there is injustice, that is why there is marginalization.
The rogues who take part in the dirty schemes they set up can be in this party one day and in the other party the next day, or they can hold jobs.
In the end, what is happening is happening to the majority of this country. Our future, our lives are being darkened!
Remember, as long as politics is financed by corruption, it will be inevitable that our public spaces will be looted, rotten buildings will be licensed, we will be buried under rubble in earthquakes, we will be fed tainted food, and we will be exposed to bad diseases.
Those who want to maintain this dirty order continue to use all kinds of fraudulent methods to get their political representatives elected, and continue to rot the institutions that are the foundation of the state. Deceitful candidates are polished and strengthened and put before us to be elected, and thanks to them, the wheel of bribery and corruption continues to turn.
While those who created the dirty system are enriching themselves in glory and comfort, the country is groaning under inflation, unemployment is increasing, tradesmen are going bankrupt, and the country is losing its reputation.
If the house we live in is rotten, if the hotel we go to for vacation is unlicensed, if the questions of the exam our children take are stolen, if the most successful people in the KPSS exam are eliminated in the interview, if the lists of those who will be hired in the public sector are made in the district organizations of an order party, and if it has been made difficult for us even to grow old and die in peace in this land where we were born, these political forgers are responsible for this.
It is these political brokers who plunder the forests where we breathe, the streams and rivers where we irrigate our vineyards and gardens, the beaches where we vacation, our living spaces and give licenses for concrete piles.
We could not enter 2026 with hope!
We are heading towards medieval darkness, where “conquests” are still celebrated. We cannot breathe out of sadness and anxiety!
Last year, too, we failed to make our country a more just social order.
Injustice, discrimination and looting continued last year.
Last year, while those who got a share from the dirty system got richer, our people continued to pay the price with high inflation and interest rates.
Last year, too, was a year in which more and more people succumbed to the wealth and power acquired by political brokers through bribery and plunder and demanded a share in this dirty system.
Last year, we could not get rid of those who made this country unlivable with their evil deeds, those who succumbed to their ego, those who destroyed our joy of life.
Dignified people of this country, honorable people of this country, clean people of this country! Let us continue the struggle against those who created this dirty order, against those who destroy our joy of life, against those who work with the dirty order!
May the new year be a bright one for you good people who see the earth we live on as a paradise and fight to protect it!
