One of the most bizarre attitudes in Turkish politics in recent years is the frivolous, disorganized and incoherent defense practices displayed by the Republican People's Party leadership. These defenses, which appear after every crisis, show no respect for political morality, social responsibility or public intelligence. So, what is the fundamental question that no one has clearly articulated?
Where does the CHP leadership get this confidence?
To what sense of legitimacy does he justify such easy mind manipulation, turning facts inside out, speaking as if mocking the nerve endings of society?
The answer to this question is not simply a failure of communication or a weakness in leadership. When we dig deeper, we find three basic building blocks that no journalist has ever addressed:
1. The Shield of Uncriticism: False Courage Created by Silence within the Party
The CHP leadership draws strength from the complete collapse of internal criticism mechanisms.
Internal party democracy has been so neutralized:
-Wrong policy cannot be criticized,
-Failed strategies cannot be discussed,
-Moral questions are silenced under the pretext of “damaging the party”.
Moreover, this silence is not limited to the inability to criticize policies. Organizations, provincial chairs, party workers and even MPs within the CHP are not allowed to object to anything. Anyone who expresses an opinion is immediately labeled as “damaging the party”; anyone who asks a question is ostracized; anyone who expresses a different opinion is cut off politically.
This mechanism is so ingrained:
-Criticism = Threat of expulsion
-Asking questions = Exclusion
-Different opinion = End of political career
Because such a harsh repressive regime has been established inside, the administration finds the courage to speak in a relaxed and frivolous manner to the outside world. Because they know that no one inside will make a sound. Every objection silenced inside turns into a spoiled self-confidence outside.
2. Media Comfort Zone: Safe Zone Provided by a Semi-Critical - Semi-Intimate Ecosystem
Many media outlets, which should have opened the CHP's statements to discussion, have been wandering on the borders that do not bother the party leadership.
“There is pretense of ”criticism" but the real issue is never touched.
This leads to the following result:
Where there is no accountability, there is no accountability.
An unaccountable administration knows no bounds in its lack of seriousness.
This media comfort gives the CHP leadership the courage to mock the public.
3. The Fallacy of Political Memory that Crises “Go Away”
The CHP leadership is using the rapid change of agenda in Turkey as an advantage.
The belief that scandals, inconsistencies and contradictions will be forgotten after a few days has completely distracted them from the responsibility of making a serious statement.
This mentality can be summarized as follows:
“In two days there will be a new crisis and this issue will be overshadowed.”
That is why they see no harm in making statements that disregard the intelligence of the public.
Conclusion: Not a “lack of seriousness” but a systematic humiliation
What the CHP leadership is doing today is not just a simple miscommunication.
This is a form of social devaluation, planned or unplanned, but recurring.
-Statements that distort the facts,
-Political demonstrations that play on emotions,
-Statements that evade responsibility,
-Manipulative defenses that deflect the target
They all contain a contempt for the mind, memory and conscience of society.
That is why we need to ask these questions more loudly:
-Who does the CHP leadership feel so powerful?
-What political relations does this self-confidence stem from?
-What purposes does this frivolous language, which destroys public trust, serve?
A party that does not answer these questions does not offer hope to the country, but only frustration, uncertainty and chaos.
Author's note The CHP leadership has made a habit of stifling criticism internally and talking like mockery externally. This frivolous, spoiled and irresponsible language does not bring hope to Turkey, but only loss of confidence and chaos.
